Is Covelight free for families?
Yes. Free for families; a community of more than 15 beds may pay us a fee if you move in. Homes of 15 beds or fewer never pay, and there is no fee on Medi-Cal, waiver or SSI moves. It never changes which homes we show you or their order.
What happens when I check availability?
A person at Covelight calls each home you picked and asks about availability, price and the care you describe. We send you each home’s answer, and you see when your first update is due before you send.
Will a home get my phone number?
Only a home you say yes to. The yes you give when you send covers a home only once it tells us it has room. We never give a home your email, and saving a home contacts no one.
Do I need to know what kind of care to look for?
No. Start with where, and what everyday life looks like now. Our guided search asks a few questions, and every one but where is optional.
Can I include family?
Yes. Your saved homes stay on this device. “Share with family or friends” sends them a link to the homes and, once you ask, what each home said. Your request page opens on any phone or computer.
Where does the information about homes come from?
The directory starts with California’s public care-home records. Home pages show sources and dates for recorded information. Missing details read “not on file,” with a question to ask. Check current care, total costs, and room options with the home. How we source information.
